Road and highway notices overlap in Bristol as First Bus diversions meet Church Road appeal

First Bus and Bristol City Council have each published notices involving road changes or highway access [3][4][5][1][2].

First Bus has published three daytime road-closure notices in the week beginning 22 September that will divert services 1, 36 and 45 [3][4][5]. The Broadwalk in Knowle is closed on 22, 23 and 24 September between 09:30 and 15:30, affecting services 36 and 45 [3]. Allison Road in Broomhill is closed on 25 September between 09:30 and 15:30, affecting services 1 and 36 [4]. Passage Road southbound in Brentry is closed on 23 September between 10:00 and 14:00, affecting service 1 [5]. First Bus said some stops will not be served during each closure and directed passengers to alternative stops [3][4][5].

A separate First Bus notice covers the B3162 West Road in Symondsbury, West Bridport, which will be closed until 2 October for A35 junction improvement works; services X51, X53 and A3 will not be able to use Miles Cross Junction during the closure [1]. The city council’s planning list also includes an enforcement notice appeal for 91–101 Church Road, Redfield, covering a change of use, without planning permission, of part of the land to operate a car wash and the creation of a vehicular access onto Church Road involving highway works [2].
