Editorial policy

Bristol News Daily publishes short news stories about Bristol that are drafted by software from public sources: council and NHS press releases, police open data, Parliament petitions, food-hygiene ratings, flood alerts and local news feeds.

Our rules

• Every factual claim is traced to a cited source. Each story links to the sources it was built from, and our system records which source supports which sentence.
• Nothing is invented. Stories never contain quotes, names, figures or events that do not appear in the cited sources. Stories that fail automated claim-checking are not published.
• We link to the originals. We summarise and synthesise; we do not republish other outlets' articles or photographs.
• Crime and court coverage is conservative. We use only official, same-day sources; we never name victims of sexual offences; categories subject to reporting restrictions are excluded entirely.
• We correct quickly. See the corrections page.

Known limits

Automation can misjudge significance and can repeat errors present in a source. Sources themselves can be wrong. Treat these stories as a starting point and follow the links.
