Police issue witness appeals across Bristol and Somerset while First Bus plans roadwork diversions

Separate police investigations in Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Norton Fitzwarren coincide with bus diversions in Somerset, Hampshire and West Yorkshire.

Avon & Somerset Police has asked for witnesses to a fire near the Locking Farm Industrial Estate, Weston-super-Mare, which broke out in the early hours of Tuesday 18 August [1]. On Friday 21 August it also appealed for information about a suspected arson at Pen Elm Hill, Norton Fitzwarren, which is being treated as suspicious [7]. In Bristol, the force issued a CCTV appeal after a man and a woman were assaulted in Stokes Croft between 3.50am and 4.05am on Friday 14 August [3]. Separately, three men were sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on 14 August for car-key burglaries in Somerset [5].

First Bus, meanwhile, warned passengers that service 125 will be diverted in Locking on 28 August because Elm Tree Road will be closed from 09:30 to 15:30 [6]. It also announced temporary stop closures for service 21 in Fareham from 24 August to 8 September [2] and diversions for service 645 in Wibsey, West Yorkshire, on 21 August and from 24 August to 2 September [4].
