Council meetings and bus diversions converge on Monday 21 September

Public notices published this week point to Monday 21 September as a shared date for civic meetings and bus diversions. Bristol City Council has published an agenda supplement for Area Committee 4 (Central, Ashley, Lawrence Hill and Easton), scheduled for 5.30pm on Monday 21 September [4]. Somerset Council's Scrutiny Committee – Children and Education meets at 2pm the same day, with an agenda supplement on the deployment of High Needs Provision Capital Allocation [7]. Cheltenham Borough Council's Licensing Sub Committee – Alcohol and Gambling is also listed for Monday 21 September at 6pm [8].

First Bus service updates give the same date as the start of several diversions. Gas works on Dundyvan Road will affect service 201 from 21 to 25 September [1]. The closure of Station Road in Wymondham will affect services 15 and 16 from 21 to 27 September [2]. An overnight road closure in Outlands Drive, Slough, will divert service 7 from 21 September to 2 October [5], and the closure of Pound Road in Bursledon will divert services X4 and X5 from 21 to 25 September [6].

Bristol City FC said it will announce the winner of its Academy Goal of the Month for August 2026 on the same day [3]. The result is that Monday 21 September brings several local authority meetings and bus route notices at once.
