South West public calendar fills before rail through-ticketing change begins

Public bodies across the region have committee meetings timetabled in the same mid-September window: Gloucester City Council lists an Audit and Governance Committee for Monday 14 September at 6.30pm [2]. On Tuesday 15 September, Bristol City Council lists a Public Safety & Protection Sub-Committee at 10am and a Harbour Committee at 3pm [4][3]. Somerset Council lists a Planning Committee - South for Tuesday 15 September at 2pm [5]. Tewkesbury Borough Council lists Planning at 9.30am on Tuesday 15 September [6]. Cheltenham Borough Council lists Cabinet at 6pm on Tuesday 15 September [7]. Gloucester City Council lists a General Purposes Committee at 6pm on Tuesday 15 September [8]. From 20 September, the Department for Transport said passengers whose train is cancelled can board another operator’s service and continue without paying again [9]. Later that week, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said it will hold a renal information day on 24 September with the Gloucestershire Kidney Patients’ Association [1].
