Public questions move to the fore as councils across the Bristol region publish meeting papers for late September

Council meetings in Bristol and surrounding areas between Monday 21 and Thursday 24 September were accompanied by a wave of agenda supplements focused on public participation, official meeting records show.

Bristol City Council published public forum papers for its Human Resources Committee on 22 September [4], for Planning Committee A on 23 September [8], and for the Environment and Sustainability Policy Committee on 24 September [12]. It also issued a supplement covering the public forum item for Area Committee 2's 23 September meeting [1].

Somerset Council published a public question time supplement for the Constitution and Governance Committee's 24 September meeting [2], and public and member questions for the Executive's 23 September meeting [3]. Cotswold District Council published member questions and responses ahead of its 23 September Council meeting [9], while Gloucester City Council issued addenda on public questions, deputations and amendments before its 24 September Council meeting [10][11].

Several of the meetings listed for the week were recorded as having been held, including Bristol's Human Resources Committee and Planning Committee A, Somerset's Planning Committee - West, the Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Panel, and Cotswold District Council's Council meeting [5][13][7][6][14].
