NHS trusts and planning authorities brought under parallel monitoring systems

Two national oversight systems are now tracking the performance of NHS trusts and local planning authorities.

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has published its progress under the NHS National Oversight Framework (NOF), which the trust said is a new performance assessment system introduced as part of the Government's commitment to greater transparency and accountability in the NHS [1].

The Planning Inspectorate separately said it maintains a list of the overall position for each local planning authority (LPA) and a list of local plan examination hearing dates over the next few months [2].

Taken together, the two frameworks place NHS trusts and local planning authorities under separate published monitoring systems.
