GCSE results day in Bristol and West coincides with bus ticket overhaul
As students across Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire received their GCSE results, First Bus announced new ticket prices and app-only student discounts due to start at the end of August.
On the same day, First Bus said it would integrate ticketing across Somerset and the wider West of England area, including Bristol and Bath, into a single offer from 30 August [5].
The operator said a West of England Plus adult Day Ticket will cost £9.50, while a Town Day Ticket for Bridgwater, Taunton or Yeovil will cost £6.80 [5].
First Bus also said the standard single fare will rise from £2.40 to £2.60, although a £3 fare cap will remain [5].
Customers aged 16 to 21 and students will be able to get a 10 per cent discount on eligible tickets, but only through the First Bus App [5].
