[4]

The BBC said pupils across the West country reacted to getting their grades. [9][10][13][15]

The Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard reported that students across the Cirencester area found out their GCSE results on the morning of Thursday, 20 August. [1][8][18]

The Somerset County Gazette reported "superb" GCSE results at West Somerset College, "another year of impressive GCSE success" at The Castle School, and high GCSE and IGCSE grades at Taunton School. [2][3][11]

Ten days later, on 30 August, First Bus Bristol, Bath & West service updates said ticketing across Somerset will be integrated into a single West of England offer. [12]

The operator said a West of England Plus Day Ticket will cost £9.50 for adults, local day tickets for Bridgwater, Taunton and Yeovil will remain at £6.80, the standard single fare will rise from £2.40 to £2.60, and the £3 single-fare cap will remain. [12]

Customers aged 16-21 and students will receive a 10% discount on eligible tickets, while children aged 5-15 will pay 50% of the adult fare, First Bus Bristol, Bath & West service updates said. [12]

Weekly and monthly tickets will be sold only through the First Bus App or Tap On, Tap Off fare capping, and no longer via the driver, according to the operator. [12]
