First Bus issues nine Glasgow-area diversions under Bristol, Bath & West label

First Bus has published nine service updates setting out diversions caused by road closures across the Greater Glasgow area [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. The notices carry the First Bus Bristol, Bath & West label but appear on the operator's Greater Glasgow service pages and describe routes serving Glasgow, Lanark, Hamilton, Castlemilk and Partick [1][2][4][5][6][8].

On the M8, service 500 towards Caledonia diverts on nights from Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 October while J24-22 is closed eastbound between 20:00 and 06:00 [1]. On Wednesday 7 October, express services X3, X25, X25A, X85 and X87 divert via Provan Road, Cumbernauld Road, Alexandra Parade, Castle Street and Cathedral Street while M80 J1 to M8 J13 is closed overnight [2]. The same night, service 500 towards Glasgow Airport diverts via Union Street, Jamaica Street and Glasgow Bridge while the Waterloo Street and Newton Street on-slips to the M8 are shut; First Bus said passengers should board from Renfield Street [3].

From Saturday 10 to Monday 12 October, Scottish Water works close Bannatyne Street in Lanark, diverting service 243 via St Leonard Street, Kenilworth Road and Woodstock Road [4]. Patching works close Aikenhead Road between Kings Park Avenue and Menock Road on the nights of 10 and 11 October, diverting service 75 towards Castlemilk and towards Milton via Kings Park Avenue and Kingsbridge Drive [6].

Emergency Scottish Power works closed Bonhill Road on Wednesday 7 October from 09:30 to 14:30, diverting service 206 towards Westcliff and towards Haldane via Townend Road and Bankend Road [7]. From Monday 12 October, carriageway patching closes Hillhouse Road at Pollock Avenue; the update, headed for the 266 service, describes a diversion for service 226 towards Hamilton via Clarkwell Road [5]. Resurfacing closes Provanmill Road between Cumbernauld Road and Langdale Street from 08:00 on Monday 12 to 18:00 on Friday 16 October, diverting service 8 towards Parkhead and Partick via Langdale Street, Royston Road and Cumbernauld Road [8]. Resurfacing also closes Argyle Street at Central Station on nights from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 October, between 22:00 and 06:00, diverting services 1, 1A, 1C and X4 towards the city via James Watt Street, Broomielaw and Clyde Street, with X4 using Stockwell Place [9].
