Extensions outnumber new-build applications on South Gloucestershire's latest planning list

South Gloucestershire's latest weekly planning list contains more applications to change existing homes than to build new ones. At least seven applications are for extensions or garage conversions described as providing 'additional living accommodation' [2][3][7][8][10][13][14]. The list also includes permission-in-principle applications for a self-build house near Watery Lane and nine dwellings at Winterbourne Down, a two-flat scheme at the Old Dairy in Patchway, and discharge-of-conditions applications linked to ten dwellings at Stoke Gifford and ten commercial units on North Road, Yate [1][5][4][9][6]. Also this week, South Gloucestershire Council launched its 'What Will You Miss?' campaign, timed to 100 days before the first smokefree generation reaches adulthood [11].
