Bristol transport and housing meetings land in same two-day window as council committees across the region

Council records for Bristol, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean and Somerset show a cluster of local authority committee meetings on 17–18 September. Bristol City Council’s Transport & Connectivity Policy Committee was listed for 5pm on Thursday 17 September [1], and its Homes and Housing Delivery Policy Committee for 10am on Friday 18 September [4]; council records later showed both as held [6][9]. Cheltenham Borough Council’s Planning Committee and Forest of Dean District Council’s Audit Committee were both scheduled for 6pm on Thursday [2][3] and were subsequently recorded as held [7][8]. Somerset Council’s Scrutiny Committee for Adults, Health and Housing was listed for 10am on Friday, at the same time as Bristol’s housing committee [5][10][4][9]. Bristol City Council separately published a forward plan update for its Public Health and Communities Policy Committee on 18 September [11]. The dates put transport, planning, audit and housing-and-health scrutiny on public agendas across the four councils within the same two-day period [1][2][3][4][5].
