Bristol's route 36 faces four straight days of diversions as separate road closures overlap

First Bus Bristol, Bath & West has published separate closure notices that together give Bristol's route 36 diversions on four consecutive weekdays from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 September [5][6]. Broadwalk, Knowle will be closed from 09:30 to 15:30 on Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September, affecting services 36 and 45 [5]. Allison Road, Broomhill will be closed from 09:30 to 15:30 on Friday 25 September, affecting services 1 and 36 [6]. Route 1 is also affected on Wednesday 23 September while Passage Road, Brentry is closed southbound between 10:00 and 14:00 [7]. First Bus has also warned of longer-distance disruption: the B3162 West Road, Symondsbury remains closed until 2 October for A35 junction improvement works, affecting services X51, X53 and A3 [1], and the Heathrow Tunnel will be closed from 02:30 to 03:30 on 21 September, meaning early A4 services cannot serve Terminals 2 or 3 or Central Bus Station [2]. Weston Mercury, meanwhile, reported that the Nuffield Health gym on Locking Road in Weston-super-Mare has extended its closure because of a major power outage [3]. Cotswold Journal reported a warning to Birmingham Airport travellers about a major motorway closure in the West Midlands this September [4].
